Hero of Ukraine, dissident, member of the Ukrainian Helsinki Group, Yury Shukhevych, will be buried tomorrow, December 10, at the Lychakiv cemetery. The community of the city sincerely sympathizes with relatives, relatives and everyone who knew the Hero.
At 11:00 a.m., the farewell and funeral rite will begin in the Garrison Church of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul (Tetralna St., 11). Therefore, the funeral procession will go to the Lychakiv cemetery. Yury Shukhevych will be buried at Field of Honor No. 67.
We will remind you that Yuriy Shukhevich passed away on November 22 at the age of 90.
According to the decree of the President of Ukraine from 2006, for “civic courage, long-term public-political and human rights activities in the name of gaining independence of Ukraine”, Yury Shukhevych was awarded the title of Hero of Ukraine. He was a People’s Deputy of Ukraine of the 8th convocation and a member of the Ukrainian Helsinki Group, one of the authors of the law on decommunization.
