Since the beginning of the year, the social patrol, which operates at the Center for Registration and Night Stay of Homeless Persons, located at 3a Kyrylivska Street, has visited places where people who do not have a home are staying 124 times. During this period, the visiting team identified 50 homeless people who were not registered at the center: specialists are currently working with them.
In total, during the existence of the Center, employees carried out 2134 social patrols, during which 385 homeless people were found. During social patrolling, workers called medics 197 times and the police 41 times.
For the most part, the social patrol makes trips three times a week. Only in the last seven days, during patrols, social workers of the Registration Center found two homeless people. In particular, on the street Kulparkivska, 95, the social patrol found a homeless man – a caring Lviv woman reported him. The man behaved quite aggressively, so it was necessary to call the law enforcement officers and doctors. Another challenge was made by the residents of the house on the street. Odeska, 12. A homeless young man was in the entrance of the house. Social workers found out that the boy is an internally displaced person. After clarification, he agreed to move to the Accounting Center for the night.
“We are extremely happy when our work is useful for homeless people. But we are most happy when, after the painstaking work of specialists, our wards return to normal life: that is, they find a job and a home,” added the Accounting Center.
At the same time, the Center for Registration and Overnight Stay of Homeless Persons appeals to all concerned Lviv residents to inform them about the whereabouts of homeless persons, if they need help, by phone: 15-80, 233-14-79. After all, a simple message can save the life of a person who for certain reasons ended up on the street.
