The Lviv City Council gave its consent to the Lviv Territorial Community’s acceptance of the integral property complex of the Lviv Prosthetic Plant into communal ownership. This decision was adopted by 34 votes at the plenary meeting on March 2.
“We have a mandate from the Prime Minister of Ukraine and a mandate from the Ministry of Social Policy to transform this state-owned enterprise into a state-owned commercial enterprise with subsequent transfer to the ownership of the Lviv Territorial Community,” said the head of the legal department, Helena Paionkevich, during the report.
This enterprise has a fairly good production base, however, as of today, it practically does not function. At the same time, as a result of ongoing hostilities in Ukraine, there is a great need to provide people who have suffered from the war with prostheses. This issue is especially acute with regard to children’s prosthetics, because they need frequent replacement of the prosthesis with a larger one.
“If appropriate investments are made, it is possible to create a high-quality center of assistive technologies for complex rehabilitation of servicemen, war-affected fathers and children on the basis of the Lviv Prosthetic Plant. In this regard, the Lviv Territorial Community is ready to accept into communal ownership for further development at the expense of the investments allocated for this purpose a complete property complex of the prosthetic plant,” the explanatory note to the resolution says.
