In Lviv, 100 winners of the “Successful Teacher” competition were awarded – 50 school teachers, 40 preschool workers and 10 out-of-school workers. All winners received 25 thousand hryvnias each. This year’s award was the seventh in a row.
Every year, the Department of Education of the Lviv City Council implements the “Successful Teacher” program, the purpose of which is to support talented and gifted teachers and improve the quality of educational services. This year, the Department of Education received 343 applications from educators – a record number of applications. Among these participants, 100 winners were selected and received cash prizes today.
“This year, I became even more convinced that teachers are courageous giants. I remember the first days after the full-scale invasion, when millions of people passed through the city. Then you can work as psychologists, volunteers, and magicians. If it were not for you, not for the teaching environment, it would be impossible to overcome all this.
You give a piece of yourself and this warmth, these emotions you will remember all your life. I have great respect for each of you.
Today’s awards are not just recognition of your talent, they are recognition of your wisdom. A teacher is the foundation of the state, so glory to Lviv teachers and glory to Ukraine!” said Andriy Sadovy, the mayor of Lviv.
Roman Vysotskyi, a computer science teacher from school #29, is among those who received the award this year. His candidacy was submitted to the competition by the school after discussion with the staff of the institution, parents and students.
“Such contests are very motivating and make you understand that everything you do is not in vain, it is appreciated. And sooner or later, it will bring results,” Vysotskyi Roman said.
