Lviv region will receive almost 55 million hryvnias for the creation of educational and practical centers this year

The new NPCs will train specialists in the fields of metalworking, mechanical engineering, automobile transport, arts and crafts, and the field of public catering.

This year, the state subvention for the creation of educational and practical centers was restored. Lviv Region submitted 14 applications, as of today we have eight winners approved by the Order of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine. An additional distribution of funds should take place in the near future, and one more may be added to these institutions. Financing is carried out within the project #100 workshops.

“The new NPCs will train specialists in the fields of metalworking, mechanical engineering, automobile transport, arts and crafts, and public catering. On the basis of one of the professional technical schools, it is planned to create a large-scale project – a support kitchen”, – said the head of the department of innovation, professional, professional pre-university and higher education of the department of education and science of the Lviv OVA, Ivan Pykus.

In the region, it is planned to attract more than UAH 80 million for the creation of educational and practical centers. Of these, almost 55 million UAH are state subventions, 10 million UAH are allocated from the regional budget under the terms of co-financing as part of the Education Development Program of the Lviv Region, another 10 million UAH have been promised to be allocated by the Lviv City Council.

“Lviv region, thanks to the support of the regional administration, did not stop the creation of educational and practical centers during the full-scale invasion. In 2022 and 2023, funds were allocated from the regional budget for the creation of such centers. We have the largest network of NPCs in Ukraine – forty-five centers as of today and expect to open nine more this year.

In this way, we are changing the perception of vocational education. Every year more and more graduates choose professional education and become students of VET institutions. Such specialists are already needed and will continue to be needed for the reconstruction of the economy of our country,” concluded Ivan Pykus.
