A unique chemical laboratory for Lviv region has been launched at Ivan Franko National University of Lviv

This is the second such laboratory in Ukraine.

The day before, on 22 September, the chemical laboratory of the Educational and Scientific Centre of the Lviv Regional Small Academy of Sciences for Pupils’ Youth was officially opened at Ivan Franko National University of Lviv.

According to Maksym Kozytskyi, head of the Lviv Regional Small Academy of Sciences, this is a unique laboratory for the Lviv region. It is the second in Ukraine in terms of equipment and opportunities for young researchers. The first one operates on the basis of the National Centre “Minor Academy of Sciences of Ukraine”.

“Students of the Minor Academy of Sciences and chemistry students of LNU now have access to a wide range of research opportunities in chemistry, ecology and materials science. Thanks to this, they will be able to participate in a much larger number of international scientific competitions and olympiads.

We managed to create this educational and research centre in our region thanks to financial support from the regional budget. We have allocated UAH 588 thousand for equipment, laboratory glassware and reagents. In return, the university renovated the premises for the future laboratory,” commented Maksym Kozytskyi.
