Construction of an elementary school with a kindergarten has begun at 8 Rudnenska Street in Lviv. Today, on the occasion of the start of construction, a capsule was laid on the site of the future educational institution.
An elementary school with a kindergarten for 270 places is being built by the “Riel” company at its own expense, and will later transfer the institution to the ownership of the city community.
The capsule was laid on the site of the future school by the first deputy mayor of Lviv Andriy Moskalenko together with the general director of the company “Riel” Rostyslav Melnyk.
“We are in a place that, over time, will be filled with great energy, positive emotions and laughter of the future of Ukraine – the children who will study here.
Rostislav Melnyk, the head of the “Riel” company, previously presented these ambitious plans at the executive committee. Then it was said that we would all gather for the laying of the capsule, and it is important that not much time has passed since that promise until today,” Andriy Moskalenko said.
Andrii Zakalyuk, head of the Lviv Education Department, noted that the school and kindergarten will significantly strengthen the social infrastructure of the microdistrict. After all, there are three schools in Levandivka, each of which is overcrowded, and children from Bilogorshche also study here.
“When a new school appears here, it will take the load off other educational institutions in Levandivka. Also, every new school that is currently being designed and built will have a modern educational space, which has a very positive effect on the educational process and how children spend their time. Therefore, we are very happy that in a few years, children will have the opportunity to attend a cool, modern school in this neighborhood,” said Andriy Zakaliuk.
The future building of the educational institution will have two floors with a total area of up to 5,000 square meters. There will be a swimming pool, modern classrooms for learning and recreation, as well as a shelter. In addition, the school and kindergarten will create 37 jobs. The educational institution will also work after school, as well as on weekends, when there will be many additional sections for children.
“For the first time in the history of our company, we are building an elementary school. There will be a school and a children’s preschool, taking into account the new requirements about the bomb shelter and additional security measures. Today we are starting the construction of the school and we think that within 20-25 months it will be built and transferred to the municipal property of the city free of charge so that children can study here. Roughly, the institution is designed for 270 children,” said Rostislav Melnyk.
According to Lyubomir Zubach, the deputy mayor for urban planning, this is not the first time in Lviv that a socially responsible developer builds an educational institution.
“The construction of the school is a mega-investment, very large funds invested in the city. We already have several examples. If we are talking about schools, then this is already the second case, the first one we have on the street. Heroiv Krut, where a large school building is being completed, and now we have a positive example in Levandivka. I am sure that he will not be the last, because education is our priority. We are now fighting, supporting the Armed Forces of Ukraine, but what are we fighting for? In order for our children to have a future, and it is largely determined by the level of education and the quality we have in the community. Therefore, we will continue to work in that direction and we are glad that we have such a socially responsible business in Lviv,” said Lyubomyr Zubach.
