Regional brain-ring championship dedicated to the Day of Heroes of Ukraine starts in Lviv region

The participants of the championship are students in grades 8-9 of general secondary and extracurricular education institutions.

The competition is dedicated to commemorating the 10th anniversary of the beginning of the armed response of Ukraine’s security and defence forces and Ukrainian volunteer units to Russian and pro-Russian armed groups. In addition to developing students’ ability to present and justify their point of view, the event will also help to shape historical consciousness, preserve national memory, and honour the courage and heroism of Ukrainian defenders.

The championship was organised by the Department of Education and Science of the Luhansk Regional State Administration and the Regional Scientific Lyceum.

The championship is open to 8-9th grade students of general secondary and out-of-school education institutions.

The competition will be held in two stages:

Stage I – district, which will last from 20 February to 10 March;

Stage II – the final stage, to be held on 20 March.

“We are pleased that so many students and teachers have responded to this initiative. We have already registered 99 teams and 594 participants. The Drohobych district has the highest number of participants – 26 teams. The first championship will take place in Lviv district on 23 February, so we wish everyone success,” said Iryna Sysliuk, head of the preschool, general secondary and extracurricular education division of the Department of Education and Science of the Lviv Regional State Administration.
