To make school principals in Lviv region only those people who really deserve this high title: LODA Chairman Maksym Kozytskyi signed an important document – the Department of Education and Science of Lviv Regional State Administration has developed a Model Regulation on the competition for the position of head of public secondary education in Lviv region.
From now on, the competition commission that will select the candidate will be able to include not only representatives of state education authorities, but also residents of the community.
Also, the relevant department proposes to take into account the diploma supplements of all candidates who want to become directors, and the task of evaluating candidates should be prepared by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, not the local education department, to avoid any bias in evaluation.
From next week, we will start implementing this document in the process of selecting candidates in all communities of Lviv region.
A typical provision on the competition for the position of school principals is an innovative project that secondary education in Ukraine has long needed.
I am proud that the Lviv region is the first to implement it. I believe that we will soon talk about the implementation of this provision in all secondary schools of our state.
