More than 23,000 graduates took part in multi-subject testing in the Lviv region this year

The final results of the NMT-2023 in Lviv Oblast were announced on August 8, during a briefing in Lviv OVA.

Speakers of the briefing were Oleg Paska – Director of the Department of Education and Science of the Lviv Regional State Administration and Larisa Seredyak – Director of the Lviv Regional Center for Education Quality Assessment.

In total, 23,579 graduates took part in the NMT in Lviv region, of which 22,907 took part in the main session and 672 in the additional one.

“I want to thank the center for evaluating the quality of education, the police, the state emergency service, the health department, Lvivoblenergo, all Internet providers for their coordinated work. I also thank all the heads of the institutions where the testing centers were located, and all the heads of the education departments. Everything happened in an organized and coordinated manner.

Next year, together with the Center for Assessment of the Quality of Education, we will do everything possible to ensure that the maximum number of testing points are in shelters so that students are not forced to take breaks during times of anxiety,” Oleg Paska emphasized.

According to the results of the NMT additional session:

400 points were received by 1 student from Secondary School No. 21 in Lviv, and 200 in one subject by 9 participants from the Lviv region, in particular from the Lviv Vocational College of Decorative and Applied Arts named after I. Trusha, private institution “IT Step School”, LLC “Ukrainian Distance School”, Lyceum No. 75, Physics and Mathematical Lyceum, Classical Gymnasium, Secondary School No. 91, Horodotska Secondary School No. 3, Ostrivskoe National Technical University “ZOSH I-III degrees-children’s “Chervonograd City Council” kindergarten.

This year, Lviv Oblast received a larger number of 200-point students in mathematics – 400 students, 250 students received 200 points in the Ukrainian language.

“I would like to remind you once again that every fourth student who passed the NMT with 600 points and every eighth student who passed the NMT with 200 points is from Lviv region. I sincerely thank the teachers and graduates for such a high result!” – concluded Oleg Paska.

In addition to Ukraine, testing was carried out in Italy, Spain, Germany, Poland, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Georgia and the USA – in 16 cities in total. 307 temporary examination centers were created to conduct NMT (67 of them abroad).

At the end of August, the Ukrainian Center for Evaluation of the Quality of Education will prepare a final report with the results of this year’s testing.

“We sincerely thank everyone who helped us prepare temporary examination centers for the national multi-subject test, who worked in these centers and classrooms, who ensured the operation of computers and resolved difficult situations that occurred. We are grateful to the heads of schools, colleges, vocational and technical institutions, and institutions of higher education, who worked and are working with us from June 7 to mid-August 2023, creating conditions for conducting NMT and master’s entrance exams. We will win!”, stressed Larisa Seredyak.

Also, on August 7, the registration for the certification of teaching staff was completed. This year, for the first time in Ukraine, in addition to primary school teachers, 1,500 participants who passed the test back in February will be tested for Ukrainian language and mathematics teachers in September. The quota for teachers of the Lviv region was already selected on the first day of registration. The documents of those who have registered are currently being processed.

“This indicates that today teachers have confidence in certification,” said Larisa Seredyak.

She also added that the Ministry of Education and Culture and the Committee of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on Education, Science and Innovation are already working on the development of a mechanism for conducting the final assessment in 2024.

“Most likely, there will be a state final certification next year, because everyone understood that without evaluating the knowledge of school graduates, it is very difficult to know about the real state of affairs even under these conditions,” added the head of the Lviv Regional Center for Evaluation of the Quality of Education.
