The state award was presented by the head of Lviv OVA Maksym Kozytskyi.
According to the Presidential Decree, the title of “Honored Education Worker of Ukraine” was awarded to Volodymyr-Bohdan Vovka, Professor of the Department of Economic Cybernetics, Doctor of Economic Sciences of the Ivan Franko National University.
“While studying at the university, each of us had a person who played a special role in our formation and knowledge of the world. I am sure that for many generations of graduates of the Department of Economic Cybernetics of Lviv University, you were such a person, Mr. Professor. In addition to knowledge, you also care about nurturing students’ sense of self-worth and diligence. Thank you for your daily work and education of conscious Ukrainian youth,” said the head of Lviv Oblast, Maksym Kozytskyi.
The professor received an honorary title for his significant personal contribution to the development of national education, training of qualified specialists, many years of fruitful teaching activity and high professionalism.
“What I like most about teaching is imparting knowledge to students. We definitely have talented and capable youth. From the first years, my students know that scientific work is a difficult process, so you need to make a significant effort to learn as much as possible from it. I am grateful to the President of Ukraine for the award and high evaluation of my scientific works for so many years,” said Volodymyr-Bohdan Vovk.
The main field of scientific interests of Volodymyr-Bohdan Vovk is mathematical methods in the management of economic and production systems. He devoted dozens of monographs, scientific manuals and about 200 scientific articles to this.
Mr. Volodymyr was born in the small village of Pidliptsi, Zolochiv district. In 1963, he graduated from the Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics of LNU named after Ivan Franko. For 37 years, he was the head of the department of economic cybernetics of the university and still continues his teaching activities.
