The school in the Khodoriv community will last for a month and includes offline and online classes with a nutritionist, pediatric dentist, speech therapist and pediatrician.
The day before, on July 31, the eighth free School of Responsible Parenting “Parents in the Topic” was opened for families expecting babies or parents of children under 3 years old.
The event was organized by the CO “Diia.WE” together with its partners – the Children’s Service of the Lviv Regional State Administration, the Lviv Regional Center for Social Services and with the support of the Khodoriv City Council and the Children’s Service of the Khodoriv City Council.
During the opening ceremony, Volodymyr Lys, Head of the Children’s Service of the Lviv Regional State Administration, greeted the school participants.
“It is very valuable that the school will continue and today residents of Khodoriv district have the opportunity to access such services free of charge and receive high-quality, up-to-date and evidence-based information support from specialists.
We understand that not every family has the opportunity to join or visit certain experts, and this School provides free access to consultations on the care, upbringing and treatment of children. In this way, we increase parental potential. And all this became possible thanks to the cooperation of the region and the public sector,” emphasized Volodymyr Lys.
Deputy Mayor Yuriy Yaremyshyn expressed his admiration for the organization of the event, noting: “We are very glad that such an event is taking place in our community at such a time. It is very valuable that people decide to be parents and continue the Ukrainian family despite everything. I am sure that the School will help you to feel more confident and enjoy parenthood.”
Sofia Krushelnytska, Head of the Board of Directors of the charity organization Diia.WE, thanked the partners for their cooperation and support of the organization of the Parenting School. She also noted that the goal of the School is to provide information support, training and create a community of parents and experts to share experiences in the treatment, education and care of children under 3 years of age. All this is to make parenting easier and happier.
“They say that everything starts with a family. And I want to say that it all starts with a woman. And a happy mom. A happy mom is a happy family. I am sure that every mom and dad are already the best parents for their child. This School of Responsible Parenting is a prerequisite for children to be brought up in a family and for the family to enjoy their parenting,” said Sofia Krushelnytska.
The lecturer at the event was Olesia Malyovana, an expert at the School of Responsible Parenting, a sleep and positive discipline consultant, who shared the most important things about children’s sleep, its duration, benefits, and elements of healthy sleep that definitely improve the quality of sleep for kids. After the lecture, everyone had the opportunity to talk individually with the consultant and receive evidence-based answers and up-to-date recommendations. The event was attended by 17 families of the participants.
While the parents listened to the lecture, children’s zones and workshops were organized for the children. The event was followed by a photo session with the kids and the presentation of gifts.
