Two higher education institutions are to be merged in Lviv

We are talking about LNU of Veterinary Medicine and LNU of Environmental Management.

This was reported by the Lviv National University of Veterinary Medicine and Biotechnology on its Facebook page.

Yesterday, on July 25, at a joint meeting, the rectors of the Lviv National University of Veterinary Medicine and Biotechnology named after S. Z. Gzhytsky and the Lviv National University of Environmental Management supported the issue of merging the universities.

“The participants of the meeting stated the high probability of future joint activities in the field of science, educational, social, cultural, organizational and economic processes on the platform of one powerful educational institution within the western region of Ukraine. The scientific and pedagogical community of the universities supported further phased discussion of the strategy, mission, and concept of the educational process,” the statement said.

Currently, the acting rector of the Lviv National University of Veterinary Medicine Ivan Parubchak and the acting rector of the Lviv National University of Environmental Management Vasyl Lopushniak have outlined a range of areas for resolving issues related to the future merger.

“The model of a two-campus organization of the educational process should become an effective mechanism for the functioning of the newest competitive higher education institution in the fields of animal husbandry, agriculture, veterinary medicine and high-tech innovations,” the LNU of Veterinary Medicine emphasized.
