Space for the promotion of science and STEAM education Lviv Open Lab is launching the project for teenagers “Science is amazing!”, which will start in Lviv in July. During the month, on the basis of the Lviv Open Lab youth space, participants will have practical classes in modern laboratories and master classes from engineers and scientists.

Become a participant of the summer scientific intensive “Science is impressive!” teenagers aged 12 to 18 can – both Lviv residents and internally displaced Ukrainian men and women. Participation in the project is free, subject to prior registration: https://forms.gle/W8gsuXL8wAXo9Y1Q7.

Participants of the intensive have the opportunity to choose one of two directions: natural science or engineering. In engineering, teenagers will practice 3D printing, the basics of VR technologies, electronics and robotics, and in science, they will grow crystals, determine water quality, study the structure of DNA and the basics of biotechnology.

Also within the framework of the project “Science is impressive!” speech clubs (Science English club) and open lectures on, in particular, so-called “soft” skills are provided.

“The uniqueness of the project lies in providing access to high-quality innovative education, mastering disciplines that are not usually studied in schools. Participants will conduct more than 40 scientific experiments, get acquainted with modern technologies, find like-minded people and be able to express themselves through science,” says the head of the Lviv Open Lab youth space, Anastasia Martynyuk.

In the future, one-day intensives will be organized for young people from the Lviv region.

The project is implemented by Lviv Open Lab from the network of youth spaces CREATE! together with Tech StartUp School, with the support of the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) Representative Office in Ukraine.
