The educational summit “Young leaders 2022” helped the participants, in particular teenagers, to reveal the leadership potential of the individual, develop abilities and find new talents in social projects of an all-Ukrainian scale. The participants were 31 teenagers, including children from the Center for Social Support of Children and Families “Relatives”, Lyceum “Prosvita” and those who were forced to leave their homes due to the war.

The educational summit was held in partnership with the Ridny Foundation, the UCU Leadership Center, the Ukrainian Educational Platform, and the Scholar Leader Camp.

Participants formed teams and, under the guidance of mentors, developed project ideas and a specific plan of action for successful implementation and presentation. The main theme of the projects is education and Ukrainization, aimed at teenagers.

Taras Kosar, the head of the educational department of BF “Ridny”, noted that the event is very valuable for teenagers nowadays. “Educational support for children and youth is one of the priority areas of the foundation’s activities. It is very important for us to systematically take care of educational opportunities for children and help them gain knowledge and experience in various fields. After all, such projects help to find like-minded people and mentors who are ready to support young people and their ideas,” says Taras Kosar.

Participant Daryna said that together with the team they managed to come up with a project that has every chance of becoming a powerful mouthpiece for the Ukrainization of society at the local level. “My team and I are working on the idea of creating a “24+1″ club. The main idea is the Ukrainization of society, particularly teenagers and young people. Our plan for this month is to create an Instagram page and hold two offline meetings. We will watch Ukrainian movies and hold a literary evening in order to popularize everything Ukrainian,” says Daryna.

Another participant, Andriana, shared her impressions of the event. “The marketing workshop was particularly interesting for me, and I liked the atmosphere of support during my studies the most. As for the project, my team and I aim to organize a Ukrainian-themed apartment building for young people. It’s very cool that on this program we got systemic knowledge that will help us create a really cool project and implement it accompanied by talented mentors,” she said.

After the two-day intensive, the participants will continue working on their own projects in teams together with the mentors they met during the summit. The conclusion and conclusion will be the presentation of their own projects by teenagers. In December, the authors of the best idea receive a monetary reward for the implementation of the idea.
