For the second week in a row, hot meals have been provided for students in general secondary education institutions in Drohobych and Stebnyk. This information was announced by Roman Hrytsay, Head of the Education Department of the City Council.
The day before, new agreements were concluded with private entrepreneurs to provide hot lunches to students in Drohobych and Stebnyk.
This includes all secondary schools in the two cities. Since then, the catering process has been streamlined, and the lunches are hearty and varied.
As for the educational institutions of the villages of the Drohobych territorial community, according to Roman Hrytsay, hot meals will start on 4 March.
This delay is due to the fact that most schools in the villages of our community had to repair their canteens or equip some free premises of these educational institutions for them. The canteens of these schools have not been repaired for decades, and in some places they were absent altogether,” commented Roman Hrytsay.
Also, according to Roman Hrytsay, hot meals will be provided in the educational institutions of the territorial community in different ways: in some educational institutions, stationary cafeterias will be deployed, in some places hot meals will be entrusted to catering companies, in others – the so-called stationary catering (hub kitchen) will be arranged. In particular, the hub kitchens will be deployed in the educational institutions of Lishnya, Naguyevychi and Bystrytsia.
We would like to add that for this academic year, according to the decision of the executive committee of the DGC on the organisation of hot meals in general secondary education institutions of the Drohobych community, the right to free meals is reserved for students of all privileged categories of the population and children from families whose parents took part in hostilities.
The Department of Education notes that in recent years the number of children from privileged groups has increased significantly.
