More than 100 schools of the Lviv region have already participated in the “Listen to the Doctor” project

Last year, the Lviv Regional State Administration and the Danylo Halytsky Lviv National Medical University launched the “Hear the Doctor” initiative.

“Within the scope of the project, medical volunteers came to schools and told students relevant information about how to take care of their health. Last year it had to be done so as not to violate quarantine restrictions, this year – in conditions of a full-scale war. Because the health of young people is the most valuable resource at all times,” noted Maksym Kozytskyi, head of the Lviv OVA.

This year, lectures on sexual development and first aid were added to the project. Often schoolchildren ask about healthy nutrition, how to stop bleeding, how to determine that a person has a stroke or heart attack and what to do to avoid harm.

“During such meetings in schools, we apply the principle of “equal to equal.” Medical students come to schools with lectures, and they manage to easily establish contact with schoolchildren. Before classes, future lecturers are prepared by medical experts: cardiologists, infectious disease specialists, gynecologists, traumatologists,” added the head of the region.

Only in the last two weeks, more than 250 students received valuable knowledge that will help them take better care of their health.
