A new training center for civilian drone operators was opened at Higher Vocational School #11.
This project was implemented at the expense of the city (UAH 1,050,000) and regional (UAH 1,625,500) budgets, as well as the school’s special fund (UAH 100,000).
Currently, 24 students are studying here, mastering the specialties of “information and software processing operator” and “civilian drone operator”.
Soon, the project, with the support of UNDP and in partnership with the Chervonohrad Warrior’s House and the NGO “DiYaTy,” will launch a course for veterans who have been disabled by war.
As the mayor of Chervonohrad, Andrii Zalivskyi, emphasized back in 2022, during one of the consultations within the framework of the project “Supporting Structural Change in the Coal Regions of Ukraine,” we discussed the prospects for retraining:
In particular, it was about vocational education institutions opening and developing new specialties that are in demand on the labor market and, accordingly, reducing the emphasis on coal. Back then, during a conversation with the director of Vocational School No. 11, Oksana Bilyk, we planned to open a new specialty in the institution – civilian drone operator. Today, we see how the director’s desire, the teamwork of the staff, the support of the regional state administration and the help of the city council have made the dream come true. The main task we are now setting ourselves is to create a high-quality educational environment. If we provide access to the latest technologies at all levels of vocational education, we will get highly professional specialists in various fields. I am sincerely grateful to the team for their powerful and fruitful work!
