Ensemble “Verkhovyna” held a farewell to carols and donated another 32 thousand UAH to support soldiers

On January 30, the Honored Carpathian Song and Dance Ensemble of Ukraine “Verkhovyna” held its final concert farewell to carols. The event was a charity event, and admission was free for everyone. During the concert, funds were raised to support the soldiers who are currently defending Ukraine from the enemy at the front lines.

“According to the ancient beliefs of our people, if holidays are celebrated, they must be properly celebrated so that they will return to us next year,” the Department of Culture and Tourism Development emphasizes. Therefore, the festival is organized annually between Epiphany and the Presentation of the Lord.

The concert by the Honored Carpathian Song and Dance Ensemble of Ukraine “Verkhovyna” was not only a fitting farewell to the Christmas season, but also a good opportunity to raise funds to support soldiers on the front line.

According to Serhiy Dmytriyev, director of the Verkhovyna Ensemble, the event raised UAH 32,300 thousand. The entire amount has already been transferred to the 67th separate battalion of the Territorial Defense of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Since the beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the ensemble has held dozens of charity concerts both in Ukraine and abroad. Verkhovyna’s work helps to promote the unique traditions of Ukrainian song and dance and raise funds to support our soldiers.
