After that, the floor was given to the clergymen, Father Oleh and Father Pavlo, who have been working closely with the college for many years. The clergymen noted that the 100th anniversary of the college is a worthy milestone and a time to chart a course for the future. Therefore, they sincerely wished the students to reinforce their knowledge within the walls of the educational institution and be worthy citizens of their native land.

Over the hundred years of its existence, the College of Mechanics and Technology has come a long way in its formation and development. The college survived two occupations: German and Soviet. Today, in the midst of a full-scale invasion, students and teachers of the college are constantly contributing to the approach of Victory: they hold charity fairs and raise funds to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Oleh Paska, Director of the Department of Education and Science of the Lviv Regional State University, wished the heroes of the occasion not to lose their charm and to multiply the traditions that have been nurtured at the college over the years.

“100 years is a long way for a person, but for a college it is a short period of time. What is the secret of such institutions as yours? The answer is obvious – you have learnt to be conscious, to be able to nurture your own, to take the best from previous teams and to pass this baton to each other with dignity. So, I sincerely wish you that all your future plans and visions for the development of the college will meet the demands of time and even go ahead of them. Let the future specialists who will leave the walls of your institution be worthy Ukrainians who cherish traditions, who are conscious and purposeful,” – Oleg Paska wished.

Then Oleh Paska presented the best teachers of the college with diplomas from the Department of Education and Science of the Lviv Regional State Administration.

The director of Drohobych College of Mechanics and Technology, Bohdan Zvir, reminded the audience of the history of the establishment and development of the educational institution, as well as the difficulties that arose along the way. He has been the head of the educational institution since 2015.

Today, our college has more than 700 students and graduates specialists in demanded professions in the labour market. Every year we try to modernise our material and technical base and keep up with the times. We cooperate with many enterprises and factories, where our students have the opportunity to undergo internships. We are optimistic about the future and make plans for the future”, , said Bogdan Zvir.

The speeches and words of congratulations from numerous guests of the holiday were intertwined with musical gifts from the city’s creative teams, as well as graduates and teachers of the college.
