During the Christmas holidays in Lviv, temporary bonfires were set up, around which musicians, residents and guests of the city gather for a joint Christmas carol. Here, everyone can sing folk carols from Lviv Oblast, Zakarpattia, Kyiv Oblast, Kharkiv Oblast, and Sumy Oblast together. Christmas carols have been collected in a special Christmas carol, which can be picked up for free in municipal institutions.
From December 26 to January 7, caroling is held in the city near temporary bonfires. The main idea is to preserve and spread the tradition of performing carols from different parts of Ukraine, which the Russians are trying to destroy.
“Christmas in Lviv is always about warmth, family coziness and unity. During the war, it is especially important for us to give this atmosphere to both Lviv residents and guests of our city: whether they are tourists, internally displaced Ukrainians, or military personnel undergoing treatment. Therefore, we want everyone who walks the streets of our city during this festive period to feel part of one big Ukrainian family. Bring your family and friends, come to the bonfires to celebrate Christmas together,” invites the head of the tourism department Khrystyna Lebed.
Schedule and locations
There have already been two carolings near the bonfires, where hundreds of residents and guests of Lviv performed traditional carols together. Those who want to attend such a caroling can do so at the following time:
December 29, 5:00 p.m., Rynok Square, 45 – “Gloria” choir of the Lviv Music School No. 8;
