Festive events on the occasion of Heroes’ Day took place in Lviv today. Yevhen Boyko, director of the “Mayor’s Administration” department of the LMR, joined the events from the city.
The commemoration began with a prayer for Ukraine and its defenders in the Garrison Church of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul of the UGCC with the participation of clergymen of various denominations.
Later, near the monument to Taras Shevchenko on Svobody Avenue, a solemn concert was held with the participation of the orchestra of the National Academy of Land Forces named after Hetman Pyotr Sagaidachny, singer Pavel Tabakov and pupils of his creative school.
We would like to remind you that on Friday, May 26, the first ceremony of awarding our defenders, who have been defending the independence of Ukraine since 2014, with the “Honorary Sign of Saint George” (posthumously) was held in the walls of the Lviv City Hall. The first awards were presented to the families of 21 Lviv residents who died at the hands of the occupier.

The Day of Heroes or the Feast of Heroes is an annual holiday in Ukraine established in honor of Ukrainian servicemen and women – fighters for an independent cathedral Ukrainian state, primarily the knights of Kyivan Rus, Cossacks of the Hetman Era, Haydamaks, Opryshks, Sich riflemen, soldiers of the Army of the UNR, UGA, OUN, UPA, as well as the heroes of the Heavenly Hundred and the modern Moscow-Ukrainian war of national liberation.
