The flag of the Crimean Tatars was raised in the center of Lviv

Today, Ukraine celebrates the Day of the Crimean Tatar flag. On this occasion, the flag of the Crimean Tatars was raised at the Flash Talk in front of the Lviv City Hall to support the indigenous people of Crimea and remind once again that Crimea is Ukraine.

We will remind you that the Day of the Crimean Tatar flag (Qırım bağrı) is a day of honoring the national flag of the Crimean Tatars, the indigenous people of Crimea. It has been celebrated on June 26 since 2010. This happens not only in different cities of Ukraine, but also in other countries of the world.

The Crimean Tatar flag is a blue cloth with a yellow coat of arms (tamga) in the upper left corner. The blue color is the traditional color of the Turkic peoples, it was used even on the flags of the Crimean Khanate. The coat of arms on the flag — tarak-tamga (coat-of-arms-crest) is the ancestral sign of the Girays, the ruling dynasty of the Crimean Khanate.
