With the support of the Lviv OVA, a discussion was held on the project of the Action Plan for the Implementation of the Strategy for the Development of the Belz Territorial Community.
As noted in the Department of Economic Policy of the Lviv Oblast, the Belz community is located on the periphery of the Lviv region, so here, as in other similar communities, there are many economic and social problems.
“These problems are exacerbated by the unsatisfactory state of the road and housing and communal infrastructure, the dependence of the budget on the coal mining industry and the budget sphere. However, it is here that there are great opportunities for the development of the community due to the use of the border geographical location, the significant land fund of the community and its unique and diverse thousand-year-old cultural heritage”, – said the deputy director of the department Vadym Tabakera.
Thus, the Action Plan for the Implementation of the Community Development Strategy proposes the implementation on the territory of the community of projects for the development of renewable (wind and solar) energy in the villages of Vaniv, Dibrova, Domashiv, the creation of an industrial park and a logistics center, the promotion of the integration of IDPs into the socio-economic life of communities, the creation agricultural cooperatives, as well as projects for the restoration of architectural monuments of national significance of the XVII-XVIII centuries. – Ensemble of the monastery SS. Dominican nuns in the town of Belz, the Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary in the town of Ugniv.
For international promotion, the community plans to hold annual “European Days of Good Neighborhood” and open a new checkpoint across the state border.
They also provide a number of measures to arrange places of pilgrimage for representatives of the Jewish nationality, which in turn requires the arrangement of a hostel in the city of Belz on the basis of the former prayer house of the Jewish religious society “Isre Lev”. The community is also ready to assist investors in the construction of a recreational hotel and restaurant complex and even to start the all-Ukrainian festival of Jewish culture “The Way of the Torah”.
“The most unique ideas are the creation of the workshop for sewing outerwear and shoes “Ugnivski boots”, the creation of the bakery “Belzki palyanitsy”, the creation of a 3D exhibition model of the monument of architecture, archeology, monumental art of the complex of the monastery of the Dominican fathers under the open sky in the city of Belz “, – noted the Department of Economic Policy of the Lviv Oblast.
In general, the proposed project of the Action Plan for the Implementation of the Development Strategy of the Belgian Territorial Community consists of 57 project ideas for a total amount of UAH 201.6 million, including the strategic goals of the community:
– competitive economy – 20 projects worth UAH 74.6 million (including UAH 7.2 million from the local budget);
– comfortable environment – 14 projects worth UAH 75.7 million (including UAH 49.9 million from the local budget);
– quality life – 23 projects worth UAH 51.3 million (including UAH 15.6 million from the local budget).
We remind you that the collection of project ideas for the Action Plan lasted from August 1 to September 19, 2022. We received a total of 69 project proposals from active representatives of the community, elders, managers of departments and structural units of the city council.
The selection of technical tasks for the Action Plan was carried out according to the following criteria: compliance with the Community Strategy, the territory of the project’s influence, beneficiaries of the project, the direction of the project, saving the budget or increasing revenues to the budget.
By the way, the Belz community is one of the 7 communities of the Lviv region that received expert support in the preparation of quality development strategies. The action plan is the next stage that brings the implementation of the community’s strategic goals closer.
