9 routes to the settlements of Lviv Municipal District will be serviced by existing carriers, which must ensure the availability of transport
This week, a tender was held to determine carriers for 9 bus routes – No. 55a, 56a, 58, 59, 60, 61, 62, 63, 84 – that run to the settlements of Lviv’s amalgamated territorial community. According to the Lviv City Council’s transport department, the tender was submitted by the existing carriers, with whom the relevant contracts will be concluded. According to the decision of the tender committee, the contracts will include an obligation for the carriers to upgrade their rolling stock to one that is accessible to people with reduced mobility within a year.
“According to the results of the tender, LK ATP No. 1 will continue to serve routes No. 55a, 56a, 60, 61, 63. This carrier has already provided large low-floor buses for these routes.
PJSC Lviv Motor Transport Enterprise 14630 will continue to serve routes 58 and 59. And Uspich-BM LLC will operate routes 62 and 84. In the contracts with these particular carriers, we stipulate that they are obliged to provide vehicles on the routes that are adapted for the transportation of people with disabilities and low mobility throughout the year.
This condition is very important given the martial law in which we live and the consequences we have as a result. In particular, our defenders and all people with reduced mobility should be able to use public transportation conveniently and safely.
Failure to comply with this condition will be grounds for termination of the contract and search for another carrier that will fulfill this condition,” said Orest Oleskiv, Head of the Lviv City Council’s Transport Department.
