On the way of water to the consumer, between the water pumping station in Hirne and Drohobych, there are clean drinking water tanks in Dobrohostiv, located at the highest point of the area – 388 meters above sea level. There are three reservoirs, each with a capacity of 10 thousand cubic meters. Water from the 2nd lift pumping station is pumped to these reservoirs through a 900 mm diameter and 17 km long water main. The total distance from the wells on the banks of the Stryi River to Drohobych is 25 km.
This was reported by the Drohobych City Council.
Water is supplied from one reservoir in Dobrohostiv through a 600 mm diameter water pipeline to Truskavets. Two other reservoirs have 700 mm and 900 mm diameter water mains, which supply water to Stebnyk and Drohobych.
Drohobych (Hirka neighborhood) receives water by gravity due to the elevation difference (Hirka is 346 meters above sea level, while the reservoirs in Dobrohostiv are 388 meters above sea level). The two water pipelines to the town use the elevation difference to supply water to private homes and to the third floors of apartment buildings. To supply water to the upper floors of apartment buildings, the company uses pumping stations of the 3rd lift, which are scattered around Drohobych and Stebnyk.
Last year, the company replaced the shut-off valves at the water inlet to the reservoirs in Dobrohostiv. This allows us to quickly eliminate leaks in the main water supply systems without dehydrating the tanks, which store a significant amount of water. This reduces the time consumers do not have water supply during scheduled repairs.
