Drohobychska hromada received UAH 237 thousand for a warning system

On March 7, during the second meeting of the 47th session of the Drohobych City Council, the Program of Technical and Financial Support, Improvement and Development of the Centralized Alert and Communication System of the Drohobych Territorial Community for 2024 was approved.

According to Ihor Yuzvyak, Head of the Department for Emergency Situations and Civil Protection, Drohobych Territorial Community received UAH 237 thousand to improve the on-site warning system as part of the comprehensive regional program “Safe Lviv Region”.

This will allow for proper technical equipment of workplaces, which will allow for timely detection of malfunctions in the community’s warning system. And, if necessary, improve the problem areas of the alert system in the community.

In general, the Safe Lviv Oblast program is a key program for the region this year. According to the decision of the session of the Lviv Regional Council, from the beginning of the year, the program will receive funding in the amount of 25% of the total program resource, namely UAH 400 million.

In 2023, more than 300 modern warning devices were purchased at the expense of the regional budget and local budgets of Lviv region. UAH 35 million was allocated for this purpose, including UAH 20 million from the regional budget as part of the Safe Lviv Region Comprehensive Program.

As a result, electronic sirens and loudspeakers have been installed in 57 communities in the region. In addition, faulty equipment is being replaced in the region in a short time and despite the weather conditions. As of the beginning of 2024, the total number of units of modern loudspeaker equipment in the region is over 1000.
