On April 25, the 49th session of the Drohobych City Council was held. Traditionally, the session began with the National Anthem of Ukraine and a blessing from Father Ivan Pankiv.
Among the issues considered at the session were decisions to approve the Transformation Plan for the educational network of the Drohobych community, changes to some items of the community budget, land and social issues.
Regarding the latter, one of the most important decisions was to approve the Program of one-time financial assistance for vulnerable groups for 2024. First of all, it concerns unemployed citizens of the Drohobych community who have reached retirement age and have at least 31 years of work experience. The amount of monthly income of such citizens must be equal to the minimum pension, and then the person can apply for a one-time financial assistance in the amount of UAH 1500.
According to Ivan Terletsky, Head of the Social Protection Department of the DMC, who reported on the Program to Support Vulnerable Populations, this initiative of the city authorities and deputies is due to the fact that due to the war and the systematic increase in prices for food, utilities and medicines, the city’s pensioners who receive a minimum pension every month have a very difficult time maintaining their lives and providing themselves with everything they need.
Given the numerous requests from community members who send monthly letters of request to the mayor for financial support due to certain illnesses, difficult financial situation, etc., it was decided to implement this program. Moreover, many communities are already implementing similar programs,” said Ivan Terletskyi.
“The payment will be made by the Social Protection Department at the expense of funds provided for in the budget of the city territorial community for 2024.
To receive assistance, the applicant or his or her legal representative must submit an application to the Head of the Social Protection Department of the Drohobych City Council. The following documents should be attached to the application:
-a copy of the passport
-a copy of the registration number of the taxpayer’s account card
-A copy of the employment record book;
-Certificate of pension amount for the previous six months;
Certificate of receipt (non-receipt) of state social assistance;
-card account details for crediting the allowance;
– if necessary, the Department’s specialists may request additional documents.
More details and clear step-by-step explanations on how to receive one-time assistance will be published later on the website of Drohobych City Council.
The program should be implemented during 2024.
