In general, it is planned to check the serviceability of more than 500 buses serving suburban and intercity routes.
Until January 20 next year, inspections of vehicles during the release of buses to the line will continue in the Lviv Region. In total, they plan to inspect 18 of the largest motor transport companies that transport passengers on suburban and intercity intra-regional public bus routes and more than 500 buses operating within the Lviv region.
The day before, on December 19, a meeting was held in Lviv OVA with the participation of the head of the transport and communication department of the administration, carriers and representatives of the state supervision (control) department in the Lviv region of the State Transport Safety Service of Ukraine.
“All inspections are carried out to improve road safety, because a large number of people are injured in road accidents. Especially in winter. I emphasize the readiness of the vehicles for use – the proper condition of the height of the tread pattern, the functioning of the heating of the windshield and interior of the bus, external lighting devices, ensuring the organization of pre-trip control of the technical condition of buses and conducting a periodic medical examination of the drivers,” emphasized the head of the Department of Transport and Communications LOVA Stepan Rudnytskyi.
The transporters of the region emphasized the importance of ensuring the proper operation of GPS trackers and uninterrupted operation of equipment for cashless payment for travel on suburban and intercity public bus routes.
The Department of Transport and Communications urges the residents of the region, in case of discovery of facts of violation of the schedule or traffic scheme by the carriers, to contact the department to make management decisions and prevent such violations in the future.
