“In today’s world, when drinking water is becoming increasingly valuable, it is important to ensure not only access to it, but also to guarantee its safety and high quality. Therefore, one of the key elements of ensuring these parameters is the management of sanitary protection zones for wells and springs. The establishment of sanitary protection zones for water wells is an important component of the development and operation of water intakes. They guarantee that drinking water will remain safe and of high quality for consumers in all areas of life,” said Oksana Viytyk, Acting Director of the Department of Ecology and Natural Resources.
The projects are designed to prevent pollution of productive aquifers at water intakes. We have identified organisational, sanitary and technical measures within their framework, in accordance with the legal regime.
Compliance with the environmental protection measures envisaged by the projects will ensure the preservation of favourable sanitary and environmental conditions in the water intake area, which in turn will lead to the preservation of the environment and the natural quality of groundwater.
