Another 10 orphans to be provided with housing in Lviv Oblast

This year, 4 children have already been provided with co-financed housing.

Today, on 1 November, a regular meeting of the Regional Commission for the Provision of Housing for Orphans, Children Deprived of Parental Care and Persons from Among Them in Lviv Oblast took place.

Proposals on the need for co-financing from the regional budget were submitted by the executive committees of the Bibra, Stryi, Dobrivlia, Radekhiv, Turka, Borin, Zhovtanets, Hnizdychiv, Dobrosynsko-Magerivska and Kamyanka-Buzka territorial communities.

Thus, the commission is currently considering 9 apartments that will become homes for 10 children.

“Today we have good news: after nine months of work, thanks to active cooperation with local communities, we managed to provide housing for 4 children. During this time, we found and jointly bought four apartments, three of which have already been handed over to the children. We are currently considering 9 more apartments for 10 children,” says Ivan Sobko, deputy head of the Lviv Regional Military District Administration.

In addition, an additional UAH 3.6 million was allocated as a result of the redistribution of budget funds, which allows the project to be implemented in full. In the next 10 days, funds will be allocated to territorial communities, which will allow us to fully resolve all issues related to the provision of housing for children for this year.

“I would especially like to note the activity and initiative of the communities that have provided the necessary funds to find and equip housing. We are confident that our work will continue under this regional programme. Provision of housing and social support from the state is crucial to ensure the stability and well-being of these children.

Thus, it is important to note that in most cases, the only support for these children is regional and local budget funds. Only in rare cases do guardians have the opportunity to help financially, and we are grateful to these people.

The Commission works effectively and efficiently, which is extremely important, because supporting orphans and children deprived of parental care is our shared responsibility. For some of them, community-based support is the only way to get decent housing and proper care.

This is a truly noble cause, and we are happy to allocate funds from the regional budget for the benefit of those who need this support. I sincerely thank everyone for their cooperation, active work and commitment to our common goals,” said Ivan Sobko.
