Modern Traffic Lights with Adaptive Control Installed on Lychakivska Street near “Enzym”

Specialists from LKP “Lvivavtodor” have upgraded the traffic light system on Lychakivska Street near the “Enzym” facility. The modernization included installing a new traffic controller and programming adaptive control to adjust signals based on traffic flow.

Key Features of the Modernization:

  • New Traffic Controller: The previous system frequently malfunctioned, causing inconvenience for drivers and pedestrians. The new controller promptly notifies the Traffic Control Center of any issues, enabling remote switching to manual control to prevent traffic congestion.
  • Uninterruptible Power Supply: Traffic lights will continue to operate during power outages.

How the Updated Traffic Light Works:

  1. Green light for traffic on Lychakivska Street remains on continuously unless vehicles exiting “Enzym” are detected or the pedestrian phase is activated.
  2. If traffic near “Enzym” is detected, red lights activate on Lychakivska Street, and green lights allow vehicles and pedestrians to cross.
  3. When the pedestrian button is pressed, and no vehicles are exiting “Enzym,” the green signal is activated for pedestrians only.
  4. A transport detector for the safe left turn of “Enzym” service vehicles activates if a vehicle waits at the stop line for more than six seconds.

Future Plans:
According to Mykola Vlasiuk, director of LKP “Lvivavtodor,” the city is completing a large-scale replacement of outdated traffic controllers. Currently, 164 traffic light systems, representing over 96%, are equipped with backup power.
