Repair work is underway on the Hirne-Drohobych water main

Today, on 21 February, the company is carrying out repairs to the Hirne-Drohobych water supply line, which has partially interrupted water supply. Water leakage is being repaired at the main water supply line in Ulychne.

Also, at the 2nd lift pumping station in Gornoye, a team of power engineers is carrying out maintenance of pumping units and contact connections on these units.

For reference: Drohobychvodokanal operates 27 wells at the Hirne water intake and 19 wells at the Urizh water intake.

A well is a well with a depth of 20-30 m and a diameter of 200-400 mm. Each of these wells is equipped with a submersible pump that lifts the water and then pumps it to the 2nd lift pumping station.

To protect the wells from contamination, a 50-metre sanitary zone has been established around them. The water extracted from underground sources of the Stryi and Bystrytsia rivers is pre-filtered with a sand and gravel mixture.

The operation of the wells depends on the water demand. They are usually switched off one by one and then switched on again after a short break to avoid stagnation of water.
