In the cardiology department of the Drohobych hospital, a renewed intensive care unit was opened

A modern ward of the European model – this is how the recently renovated intensive care unit looks like in the cardiology department of the “Drohobytsk City Hospital No. 1”. Until now, the intensive care unit was cramped in separate wards and needed high-quality repair. During the three months of renovation work, the intensive care unit of cardiology has changed radically: now up to 9 beds for difficult patients can be deployed here and they can be provided with high-quality medical care. In the intensive care ward, the ventilation and heating systems, the oxygen supply system have been replaced, there are patient monitors and an emergency call button for personnel, etc.

On the second of November, the head of LOVA, Maksym Kozytsky, reviewed qualitative changes in the cardiology of Drohobytsk City Hospital No. 1. On that day, a solemn consecration and opening of the chamber took place with the participation of the clergy, representatives of the authorities and the NSZU.

The head of LOVA, Maksym Kozytskyi, and the mayor of Drohobych, Taras Kuchma, gave welcoming speeches. Among the invited guests were Acting Director of the Department of Health Protection of LOVA Nataliya Litvinska, Head of the Western Interregional Department of the NSHU Tetyana Kudyk, Head of the Drohobytsk RVA Stepan Kulinyak, Head of the Department of Health Protection of the Executive Committee of the DMR Volodymyr Chuba, Deputy of the Lviv Regional Council Serhiy Olenych , deputy mayors of Drohobych Yuriy Kushlyk and Vasyl Kachmar and others.

In an address to the medical staff, the head of LOVA, Maksym Kozytskyi, noted that war has no right to stop life and the opportunity to receive quality medical care. The official emphasized the importance of the fact that soldiers returning from the front to their hometowns should receive high-quality medical care, as well as the residents who live here.

Today, we are living in the process of medical reform, and I am very grateful to the National Health Service of Ukraine for the fact that it works correctly, distributes resources when “money follows the patient” and the better conditions we create for people, the better services specialists will provide, the greater the development of institutions Health Care. We are also forming a hospital network, and in this process we can concentrate assistance on institutions that provide truly high-quality medical services. Drohobytsk City Hospital is recognized as a cluster hospital and we are pleased that, along with a wide range of medical services, the hospital is constantly developing, modernizing and becoming a European-style health care facility, said the head of the region Maksym Kozytskyi.

Major repair work in the intensive care unit was financed from the local budget. In general, the “Drohobytsk City Hospital No. 1” KNP serves 250,000 residents of the district per year, and also accepts patients with cardiovascular diseases. Each year, more than a thousand patients are admitted directly to the cardiology department, including about 600 with myocardial infarction. Modernization of the department will contribute to the provision of quality medical services to difficult patients.

The war continues and it is necessary to provide high-quality medical services, because the number of diseases is increasing, as are the number of patients. We must understand that warriors and people who have lost everything will return to us. Therefore, we must provide quality medical services to everyone and restore lost health. Also, I sincerely thank you for the cooperation of the LODA, because only in close partnership relations can we develop and move forward, change our medical facilities and make them even more professional and modern, – stressed the mayor of Drohobych, Taras Kuchma.

In parallel, with the opening of the intensive care unit, other renovations are underway at the medical facility. So, in the last short period it was possible to cover the roofs, the facade of the surgical building and the administration building are being repaired. Until now, capital repairs have been carried out in the reception department of the hospital, a modern tomograph and angiograph have been installed, diagnostic equipment has been updated, and a transition between the buildings of the medical institution has been made.

In order to insulate the premises of the surgical building and reduce energy costs, a major overhaul of the facade using energy-saving technologies is underway.
