Ancient linden alley saved from destruction in Zolochiv district

The alley was planted in 1877 by the local Countess Lonchynska. In 2013, the alley was restored, including the planting of 25 new linden saplings.

This was reported by the Information Policy Department of the Lviv Regional Prosecutor’s Office.

The boundaries of the botanical natural monument “Alley of ancient linden trees” were established in Zolochiv district – prosecutors ensured the actual execution of the court decision

Following the principled position of the Zolochiv District Prosecutor’s Office, the court ordered one of the village councils of Zolochiv district to carry out work on the delineation of the boundaries of the landscape art monument.

We are talking about the botanical park-monument “Alley of Centuries-old Limes”. The other name of the monument is “Alley of Lost Love”. It is located in the village of Kutkir, Zolochiv district. The area of the park is 2 hectares.

It has been established that the boundaries of the park-monument have not been established and the land plot has not been subject to environmental protection measures. Although the Alley of Centuries-old Limes was granted the status of a nature reserve back in the late twentieth century.

This status was granted to preserve the linden alley planted in 1877 by the local Countess Lonchynska. In 2013, work was carried out to restore the alley, including the planting of 25 new linden saplings.

In response to the violations of environmental legislation, the prosecutor’s office filed a lawsuit with the court, which was fully satisfied.

Today, the court’s decision has been fully implemented, the boundaries of the botanical park have been established and environmental restrictions have been set in the State Land Cadastre regarding the use of the land plot.
