The total amount of compensation is over UAH 600 thousand. Lviv will help restore 28 more windows and 3 doors to residents after the Russian missile attack on 4 September

Lviv continues to provide financial assistance to people whose homes were destroyed as a result of the Russian attack on 4 September.

On 28 November, the executive committee agreed to provide compensation for the restoration of 28 more windows and 3 entrance doors in the homes.

“The city has taken on this important function of helping residents whose apartments were destroyed by the Russian attack on 4 September. We provide reimbursement for the repair and restoration of windows and doors, as well as compensation to residents of those apartments that were flooded as a result of firefighting. In total, we have already received almost 500 applications for compensation. Today, the issue of social assistance, cooperation of socially responsible businesses to help those who need it most, is a crucial issue for our community and the country,” said Tetyana Kolesnyk, Head of the Social Protection Department of Lviv City Council.

In total, the city has already received 476 applications from residents for compensation for damaged windows and doors totalling UAH 10.3 million.

As a reminder, during 2023-2024, the Russians launched 6 massive missile attacks on Lviv, which resulted in injuries to people and their property. To support the residents as much as possible, the city provided compensation for the restoration of destroyed windows and front doors. A total of about UAH 90 million has already been allocated from the city budget for these payments.

Lviv is helping residents whose homes have been destroyed or damaged as a result of an enemy attack. In particular, those in need were provided with temporary free housing. Residents who lost their apartments as a result of the hostile attack are paid rent by the city. The compensation amounts to UAH 10,000, UAH 12,000 and UAH 15,000, depending on the type of apartment they lost: 1-, 2- or 3-room apartments.

If the apartment survived, but there are broken windows or entrance doors, people receive funds to replace them: up to UAH 12,000 for one broken window and up to UAH 8,000 for a damaged entrance door. If the apartment is flooded due to firefighting, the owner receives compensation in the amount of UAH 15 thousand. For more information on how to apply for various compensations, click here.
