Potholes are being repaired in Lviv today

Today, potholes are being repaired in all districts of Lviv. 14 crews are involved in the work.

According to Orest Tymchyshyn, Director of the Department of Housing and Infrastructure at Lviv City Council, utilities are working harder on Saturday due to favourable weather conditions.

“Today, potholes are being repaired in all districts of Lviv, and pavement is being laid in Halytskyi district. A total of 14 teams are working. We have ordered 105 tonnes of asphalt from Shevchenkivskyi Road Repair Enterprise to fix the potholes. The work will continue throughout the day,” said Orest Tymchyshyn.

As a reminder, potholes on the roads are caused by frequent changes in temperature in the autumn and winter. Snow melts and falls into the cracks in the asphalt, and when there is a frost, ice bursts the asphalt, which is how cracks and pits appear. As soon as the weather conditions are favourable, utilities repair the potholes and prioritise repairs where the situation is most critical.
