Sokal community received a generator for uninterrupted water supply and sewerage

At a time when the enemy is launching terrorist attacks on critical infrastructure, it is extremely important to provide the community with uninterrupted water supply and sewerage.

Therefore, for two months, the Sokal City Council, with the assistance of the Lviv Regional Administration, has been negotiating with the mission of the Swiss Foundation Humanitarian for Empowerment in Ukraine (coordinator Anton Humeniuk) to provide the city community with a 175 kW generator to ensure the uninterrupted operation of Sokal’s wastewater treatment facilities under martial law.

On 23 September, with the assistance of this Foundation, the Ukrainian Society of Switzerland and the Lviv Regional Association of Manufacturers, our community received the necessary generator, which will be installed at the Sokalvodokanal treatment plant.

On behalf of the community residents, we express our sincere gratitude for the assistance provided to all participants who contributed to the implementation of this project: Swisscom Immobilien AG, 3050 Bern; Verein SWITLO, 5628 Aristau, Switzerland Andrei Maltsev, Frank Muller; Humanitarian for Empowerment Foundation, Switzerland, Anton Humeniuk; Ukrainian Society of Switzerland, FRIBOURG Switzerland Oleksandr Volkov; Alexander Luchinger; ISS, Martin Born. We believe that this is the first step towards partnership and close cooperation,” the Sokal City Council emphasised.
