Shooting range and shooting range in Velyki Hrybovychi: new details on the construction of the future sports complex

Recently, the city has adopted two important documents on the implementation of a major project – the construction of one of the largest sports complexes in Ukraine – a shooting range and a shooting range in the Lviv community.

Thus, at the last session, the deputies approved a detailed plan for the territory of the future shooting range. And the executive committee granted permission to develop design and estimate documentation, the customer of which is LKP Sportresurs. The city plans to receive it at the end of summer.

The winner of the architectural competition, which the city held back in 2022, will have to propose a preliminary design and design estimates for the construction of the shooting range. And after the land documents are issued, the first stage of construction will be decided.

The Lviv City Council’s Department of Urban Development notes that the shooting range and firing range is a project that will actually become an element of national resistance.

“This shooting range is an integral part of our national resistance programme. After all, the enemy we are currently fighting in the east and south of the country will forever remain our neighbour. Even after the victory we all believe in. So we need to be prepared. The future sports complex in Velyki Hrybovychi will be useful – everyone who is ready to take up arms will be able to train and prepare here,” said Taras Kubay, director of the city planning department.

Currently, the city council is carrying out all the necessary procedures before starting large-scale construction.

A month ago, they also held public hearings with architects, military personnel and office managers. Residents of the communities were also invited.

“Importantly, there are no residential buildings within the detailed plan. During its development, the designers have repeatedly consulted with representatives of sports shooting federations and the military to comply with all safety requirements,” the Department of Urban Development said.

As a reminder, the projected shooting range in Velyki Hrybovychi includes a large number of shooting distances of 25, 50, 100, 300 and 600 metres, indoor and semi-indoor shooting ranges, fields for sports paintball and airsoft, shotgun stands, compact sports and archery fields. An administrative building with training rooms, shooters’ rooms, specialised shops, administrative and auxiliary premises was also designed for the needs of such a complex.
