The session of the Drohobytsk City Council made a decision to rename Gagarina Street in the village of Bronytsia. According to the collective decision of the village community, the street will now bear the name of Ivan Franko.
This was preceded by the decision of the commission on issues of de-Russification and renaming and assigning names to streets, alleys, parks, and squares within the boundaries of the Drohobych urban territorial community.
Previously, the renaming of streets in the villages of the community was temporarily postponed, and village elders were instructed to hold consultations with residents and choose new names for those streets that are included in the list of toponyms to be renamed.
The community of the village of Bronytsia collectively decided to rename Gagarin Street to Ivan Franko Street, sending a corresponding appeal with signatures to the village head Oleksandra Semkiv.
We will remind you that all these measures are carried out by the Drohobytsk City Council in compliance with the requirements of the Law of Ukraine “On Decolonization and De-Russification of Toponymy”.
Also, at the last meeting of the commission, a decision was made to rename the streets of Peace and Victory in the villages of the Drohobych community.
