Today, September 14, such a decision was made by deputies of the Chervonograd City Council at a session.
The city council also decided to form a special working group for consultations and approved its personnel. The working group must sum up the results of the consultations no later than 10 working days after their completion, and the results must be published on the website of the city council.
We will remind you that the Ukrainian Institute of National Remembrance made a recommendation to change the name of Chervonograd, in accordance with the law on decommunization, which came into force on July 27 of this year. Therefore, according to the law, the local government is obliged to consult with the community and choose a new name for the city within six months.
After the city council votes for it, and later the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, the settlement will change its name.
