Therefore, by April 1, the Lviv City Council will cut 150 employees, and by June 1 – more than 200 more people.

According to the new structure, the Lviv City Council will liquidate three departments: city agglomeration, administrative services, and personnel management. The Department of Information Technologies and the Department of Waste Management will also be disbanded. There will be changes in several more departments of the Lviv City Council.

“We are uniting the street infrastructure management with the security management and taking into account the need to return the intermediate structure – the apparatus of the executive committee. We are renaming the Department of Urban Landscape to the Department of Environmental Formation,” said Helena Payonkevych, director of the legal department of the LMR.

From the new: the Lviv City Council will have the position of deputy mayor for issues of veterans and people with disabilities and a special department that will take care of defenders’ issues.

As the mayor Andriy Sadovy noted, Lviv is the first city in the country to introduce such a position.

“We are several steps ahead of other cities. We also have many programs for the military: special programs of economic support for veterans, UNBROKEN ART, prosthetics and social support, UNBROKEN SPORT, veteran hubs, housing for the wounded, reconstruction of the park with inclusive elements for the rehabilitation of patients of the NEZLAMNI center. I want to thank everyone who works on the implementation of such projects, which are designed to support our defenders and their families,” said Andriy Sadovy.

We will remind, at the beginning of 2023, the city council already reviewed the number of government officials. As of September 1, 2023, there were 1,839 employees in the city council.
