Two more illegally installed kiosks were dismantled in Lviv. These are temporary structures at 34 Petliury Street and 101 Chornovola Avenue.
This was reported by Lubomyr Zubach, Deputy Mayor of Lviv for Urban Development.
The owners of both temporary structures dismantled the kiosks on their own.
“The story of the kiosk at 34 Petliury Street is simple. The entrepreneur sold alcohol here, so in 2019 he was not included in the Comprehensive Scheme for the Placement of Temporary Structures in Lviv. So, it was still standing without any legal grounds. The working group also did not return it to the integrated scheme. Thus, there is only one way out – dismantling. The owner did it on his own. The kiosk at 101 Chornovil Avenue has been outlawed since 2017. At that time, the city council did not extend the term of the kiosk’s business activity. And in 2019, the district administration even won a court case that ordered the temporary structure to be dismantled. This was supposed to be done by the executive service. But obviously, something went wrong. Anyway, after a thorough explanatory work, the owner finally removed his building voluntarily,” said Liubomyr Zubach.
Over the past three years, more than a hundred kiosks have been dismantled in the city. After the inventory, Lviv counted 1,327 legal temporary structures and 130 kiosks that are subject to dismantling. Also, there are about 110 cases in the courts at various stages of proceedings regarding kiosks that have been titled.
