12 centers of national and patriotic education will be opened on the basis of general secondary education institutions of the Lviv city territorial community. As of today, one is already functioning in Halytskyi district, five more will be opened by October.
“We plan to completely reformat the work and teaching of the subject “Defence of the Fatherland” and bring national-patriotic education in schools to a new level. In particular, we are talking about the creation of 12 national-patriotic education centers with separate staffs and the necessary material base to teach this subject qualitatively and effectively at key educational institutions,” emphasized Andriy Zakaliuk, head of the Lviv Education Department.
In total, there will be 12 centers of national and patriotic education in Lviv (two in each district). One of them is already functioning in the Halytskyi district on the basis of the Center for Children’s and Youth Creativity. The second center will be opened on September 1 in Sikhiv, at school No. 13. Five more are planned to open on October 1, the rest – later.
The main areas of activity of such centers:
· basics of civil protection;
· bullet shooting (shooting training);
· tactical training;
· pre-medical assistance.
Psychologists and specialist instructors in bullet shooting, pre-medical and tactical training will work in the centers of national and patriotic education.
