Two bicycle and pedestrian crossings will appear on Zelena Street near the AS-5. This decision was approved the day before by the city commission on road safety.
The crossings will meet accessibility standards. This was reported by the Sykhiv District Administration.
“New bicycle and pedestrian crossings will connect major points of attraction – the bus station on Zelena Street and the shopping center on Pasichna Street. All crossings will be accessible for people with limited mobility: in addition to markings and signs, there will be lowered curbs and tactile tiles,” said Ivan Zalutskyi, head of the communal services department of the Sykhiv district administration.
He clarified that before starting the work, it is necessary to develop and approve a traffic management scheme with the patrol police. This scheme should take into account the future extension of the bicycle network and the arrangement of a bicycle and pedestrian crossing on Luhanska Street.
“Now the bicycle network ends before the roundabout on Zelena Street. Therefore, we will set the terms of reference for the designer to design the continuation of the bicycle network here,” added Ivan Zalutskyi.
We remind you that new pedestrian crossings will also be arranged in Ryasne on Shevchenko Street and at the intersection of Pasichna and Pyrohivka streets.
