Balconies in non-monument buildings continue to be restored in Lviv

2 more common balconies repaired under the co-financing programme with the city

The programme for co-financing the repair of balconies in buildings that are not monuments continues to operate in Lviv. Thanks to this programme, common balconies were repaired in the buildings at 5 St. Theodore’s Square and 9 Gorodotska Street. Thus, 80% of the cost of the work was paid by the city, and 20% – by the residents who use these balconies.

“We continue to repair balconies under the co-financing programme between the city and residents. In particular, we have completed the overhaul of 2 common balconies at 5 St. Theodore’s Square and 9 Gorodotska Street. In general, this year 16 balconies have already been repaired in our neighbourhood and the work is still ongoing.

We remind residents who would like to repair their balconies under the Co-financing Programme to submit an application to any ASC office in Lviv

The principles of co-financing of balcony repairs are as follows: up to 80% of the budget of the Lviv city territorial community and at least 20% of the funds of the owners, co-owners of the apartment,” the Halychyna district administration said.

Last year, thanks to the Balcony Repair Co-financing Programme, 49 balconies were repaired – 40 individual balconies and 9 common balconies. This year, more than 60 balconies have been repaired.

Last year, all balconies in apartment buildings in Lviv were inspected. They found 9,270 individual balconies and 4,201 common balconies to be in poor condition. Therefore, residents who own apartments with dangerous balconies were told what programmes they could use to repair their balconies.

Residents who own balconies in architectural monuments can apply for participation in the Co-financing Programme for the Restoration of Balconies in Residential Buildings with Architectural Monuments to repair their balconies. You can get more detailed advice on this programme by contacting the Department of Historic Environment Protection. The documents will need to be submitted to the ASC. More information about this programme can be found here.

Owners of individual balconies in buildings that are not architectural monuments and are in poor condition can apply for a special programme to support co-owners of apartment buildings in carrying out urgent or major repairs, reconstruction, repair and restoration of common property in apartment buildings of the Lviv City Council. The balcony will be repaired on a co-financing basis: 80% will be paid by the city, and 20% by the resident.
