A center for national-patriotic education has opened in Sikhiv, where schoolchildren will be taught military affairs and pre-medical care in a new way.
“Today, we are opening another center of national and patriotic education, which is fully equipped with everything necessary to teach children military affairs, first aid, tactical assistance, orientation, demining. There are separate rooms for each of these classes: there is a shooting range, samples of weapons, mannequins, etc. A separate staff of qualified specialists was recruited here.
In this center, students from many schools in the district will study the subject “Defense of Ukraine” in a high-quality manner instead of the outdated subjects of the DPY,” said Andriy Zakaliuk, head of the Lviv Education Department.
The estimated cost of setting up such a center is UAH 2 million. These funds are an investment in the professional military training of schoolchildren and their acquisition of quality knowledge in pre-medical care.
“In the 10th grade, we started the subject “Defense of Ukraine”, I believe that it is one of the most important subjects now. The first classes taught us safety techniques, which are weapons, shooting and all other basic knowledge, and later we already moved on to practice: disassembling a machine gun, shooting at a shooting range, domestic assistance. All the girls in our class study the boys’ program, because we believe that everyone should be able to shoot. What is characteristic is that most of the girls shoot very well and even in the future want to study in the field of police or ground forces. I really like this center, I like all the classes that you can try here. I shot in conventional and electronic shooting ranges, and disassembled the machine gun, and looked for mines. Everything is very interesting and encourages children to study,” shared Anna Sklyar, an eleventh-grader at school #84, whose students will now study “Defense of Ukraine” on the basis of this center.
We will remind you that 12 centers of national and patriotic education will be opened on the basis of general secondary education institutions of the Lviv city territorial community. As of today, two such centers are already functioning: one – in Halytskyi district and this one – in Sykhivskyi. Five more will be opened by October.
