In Lviv, a metal gate with sunbeams was restored

In Lviv, a historical metal gate with sunbeams was restored. Updated doors will now decorate the entrance to the house on the street. Hlybokiy, 21.

The gate is special in that its elements are not welded, but fixed on rivets. Restoration work lasted about two months.

“The metal gate was deformed because it has a large weight and size, and it was improperly fixed on the curtains. Its lower part was badly destroyed, the doors barely held together, the authentic fittings were lost, and instead of glazing there were metal sheets,” said master restorer Yaroslav Zubytskyi.

Specialists leveled the deformed structure of the gate and restored its glazing. They also made and installed new handles. During the research, it turned out that the authentic color of the gate is green, and it echoes the majolica in the decor of this Art Nouveau building.

“The cost of restoration works is UAH 75,000. The contribution of the residents amounted to UAH 22,500, and the rest of the amount is the funds of the German Eberghard Schöck Foundation, which this year supported our Program for co-financing the restoration of valuable elements in historic buildings,” said Pavlo Bogajchyk, director of the “Heritage Bureau” LKP.

We will remind you that windows in historical houses and a gate decorated with seashells were recently restored in Lviv.
