Hydraulic Testing of Heating Networks to Begin in Lviv on April 28, Affecting Hot Water Supply

Starting Monday, April 28, annual hydraulic tests of the heating networks will begin in Lviv. Initial inspections will focus on the main pipelines connected to TPP-1 and TC “Pivnichna,” the city’s largest sources of heat. Subsequent tests will involve smaller networks from local boiler houses, with individual testing schedules possibly extending up to two weeks.

According to Oleksandr Odynets, director of Lvivteploenergo, hydraulic tests are crucial for identifying and repairing worn-out sections of pipelines ahead of the heating season, preventing major breakdowns and enabling flexible heat supply based on weather changes.

Testing Schedule:

Affected Areas:

Hot water supply is expected to resume from June 3, although repairs might be completed earlier where possible. For instance, parts of Lychakivskyi district will be reconnected through the boiler house on Kytayska Street sooner.

Further Testing:

Hydraulic testing is carried out in compliance with the “Technical Operation Rules for Thermal Installations and Networks” and the “Rules for Preparing Heating Systems for the Heating Season.”
