Part of Paporotna Street, where major repairs began before the war and water pipes were replaced, will be paved
The Zaliznychna District Administration ordered major repairs of a part of the road on Paporotna Street before the war began. They managed to replace the entire water supply and sewerage network and fill everything with sand. Then, due to martial law, the work was suspended. However, private vehicles are still using the street. Therefore, given the possible destruction of the work already done and numerous requests from residents, this part of the street will be asphalted.
According to the Zaliznychnyi District Administration, Paporotna Street is a block street in the old Levandivka district. In 2020, the design and estimate documentation for the overhaul of this street was prepared. The total cost of the work then amounted to UAH 15.6 million. The repairs were to be carried out in two stages. The first stage is the replacement of engineering networks, namely the replacement of the water supply network, domestic and rainwater sewage. The second stage is the restoration of landscaping, i.e. the construction of roadways and sidewalks.
“We completed the first stage of these works in previous years. The cost of the work already completed is UAH 8.7 million. Then, due to martial law, the work stopped. I should note that all the pipelines were covered with sand only. Therefore, as of now, we have detected damage to the sewer manholes. Therefore, in order not to destroy the expensive work that has already been done, we will asphalt this part of Paporotna Street and arrange sidewalks as envisaged by the project. We also have a lot of requests from residents of the area to complete this street,” said Ihor Savka, head of the Zaliznychnyi District Administration.
According to him, Shlyakhovik-T LLC will carry out the work. The estimated completion date is October 2024. The roadway will cover 3,356 m2, and the area of adjacent roads and sidewalks will be 928 m2.
